my counselling has ended!
If you recall it was supposed to be helping me, a support, deal with the stresses, strains, frustrations etc connected with being a full time carer.
Erm, 6 weeks?
Caring is a lifetime task (in my circumstances)!
Well, that is my portion of the NHS budget used up.
So when you hear that the government has poured money into support for carers - it consists of 6 weeks counselling which we must make last a lifetime.

It did actually - it helped to lift me from where I was and remind me of stuff I learnt over the years that I can apply.
It has also taught me to try and watch for when I am going down and to avoid it. Mostly easier said than done.
My moods will still go up and down more often than an essex girls knickers (joking) but I have live with that, just watch the cycle and recognise the danger signs. 
well it was of some use then....that is good....
...yes...I know what you mean about the just letting oneself slip down...and needing to have a warning sign and a strategy to grab before the slide begins....a sort of slide into hopelessness is my one...and if I can just grab something and pull myself up by the bootstraps I can now stop myself.....sometimes it is sooooo hard though....Keep yer end up eh? 
I am sorry your counseling has ended my sweet friend. (((hugs)))
